The story behind this design
Lotus heads are drawn large and open, with cyan filling the space between them rather than behind them. The flowers are cropped at the seams on the smaller covers, so a 14 inch pillow shows two or three blooms and a 20 inch shows more. Cyan keeps the lotus reading as a water flower, which a warm ground would not.
