The story behind this design
This is Alaska country: a creek cutting a meadow, snow still sitting in the high ground behind, and a treeline that thins out as the land climbs. The drawing spends its detail on the water and the foreground grass, letting the glaciers go pale and flat at the back so the depth reads without haze effects. Canvas suits it — the weave takes the edge off the light.
