The story behind this design
Paisley here is drawn at a deliberately large scale, the teardrops stretched and overlapped so the repeat runs off the edges of each panel instead of tiling neatly. Because the shirt is cut and sewn after printing, the motif carries over the seams and down the sleeves, which no chest-panel print can do. The contrasting black stitching frames each panel and gives the pattern a hard boundary to push against.
