The story behind this design
Psychedelic is doing real work here rather than acting as a label: the flowers are drawn with concentric bands of clashing hue inside each petal, so the color vibrates where two bands meet. Scale is pushed until a single bloom covers most of one shoe, which means the left and right never match. It is a design that only makes sense on something small and curved.
