The story behind this design
The bike is drawn in three-quarter view with the city reduced to flat blocks behind it, so the machine stays the only thing with detail in the picture. Spokes, cables and the exhaust run are all kept as visible line work rather than being simplified away — the drawing is interested in how the thing is built. Nothing about it is modern; the proportions are a 1970s standard, upright and unfaired.
