The story behind this design

Snowmen are usually drawn on white, which is the one background that works against them. On this black glaze the figure is the brightest thing on the mug, and the coal buttons and stick arms read as silhouette rather than detail. The tree beside it is kept darker and busier so the two do not compete, and the whole scene sits low on the body where a hand does not cover it.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What sizes does this DipaliZ mug come in?
A: Two capacities, 11 fl oz and 15 fl oz.

Q: What color is the mug?
A: The mug has a black ceramic base with a glossy glaze.

Q: What is printed on the mug?
A: A snowman alongside a decorated Christmas tree, printed by sublimation.

Q: Why does a black mug suit this design?
A: A dark base gives the white of the snowman somewhere to sit, so the figure reads clearly instead of disappearing into a pale glaze.

Care

Hand wash to keep the sublimation print sharp, and avoid abrasive scourers on the printed area. A dark glaze shows water marks, so dry the mug rather than leaving it to drain.
