The story behind this design
Continuous line art works by leaving things out. There is no shading here, no hatching and no outline weight change, so the profile, the shoulder and the hair all have to be carried by one unbroken stroke that never doubles back. Where the line breaks contact with the figure it becomes the hair, which is the small trick the whole drawing turns on. The result reads as confident rather than detailed, which is why it holds up printed large on canvas.
