The story behind this design
Garment dyeing gives a slightly mottled ground, and the duck is printed a shade lighter here than on the jersey version so it settles into that texture instead of floating on top of it. On Graphite the bird reads almost tonal, which turns a loud joke into a quiet one at a distance.
