Loose petal shapes and overlapping stems carry this design, drawn at a scale that keeps the blooms reading as blooms at a distance rather than dissolving into a busy field. Stems are allowed to cross and overlap instead of sitting side by side, which is what gives the print its gathered, just-cut look. On the beige version the ground itself reads as part of the palette.
