About This Item
The DipaliZ Elegant Floral Mug is a ceramic drinking mug printed with a poppy-led garden floral. The artwork wraps around the body of the mug, with open scarlet poppies and smaller mixed blooms set against a light ground. DipaliZ offers the mug in two capacities, 11 oz and 15 oz. Ceramic is the standard body for a printed mug because the glaze fires hard over the print, which is what allows a printed mug to go through a dishwasher at all.

The story behind this design
A mug is a cylinder, so any pattern put on it has a seam where the artwork meets itself. This floral was composed to hide that: the poppies are placed so a single large bloom sits over the join, and the smaller flowers thin out towards it rather than building up. The reds were pushed slightly towards orange because true crimson fires a little cooler and flatter on a glazed ceramic body than it looks on screen.
