The story behind this design
The landscape is built in receding bands, a foreground of low field, a middle distance of trees and a pale horizon, all held to a narrow range of neutrals so nothing in the scene shouts. There is no sky drama and no sun. It was drawn for a room rather than a wall, which is why the tonal range stays close and the whole image works as a soft field of color from across a sofa.
