The story behind this design
Art nouveau treats the stem as the subject and the flower as the punctuation, and this drawing follows that: the stems whip and loop across the whole case, meeting the edges in deliberate curves. Blooms sit where the lines slow down. The palette is pastel, a departure from period originals, which keeps the ornament from reading as heavy.
