The story behind this design
Sunflowers and lavender are an unlikely bouquet botanically but a very good one visually, because yellow and violet sit opposite each other and each makes the other brighter. The basket is drawn with a visible weave, light on the near side and shaded on the far, which gives the arrangement something solid to sit in. Stems are allowed to escape the rim at different heights so the silhouette stays loose rather than domed.
