Damask was built for heavy woven cloth, so translating it to a sheer chiffon meant thinning every line until the pattern reads as printed rather than woven. The roses are drawn small and repeated at close intervals, which is what keeps them legible once the fabric is knotted and most of the surface disappears into folds.
