The story behind this design
Orange is a hard ground for flowers because it competes with most petal colors, so the artwork answers it by going tonal: the blooms sit in warmer and cooler oranges with white only at the centers. The effect is closer to a block-printed cotton than to a photographic floral, and it reads as one color at a distance and as a pattern up close.
