The story behind this design
Yellow carries the ground with white and green flowers scattered across it, which is an unusually warm base for a floral and makes the skirt read as high summer. The blooms are drawn full rather than in outline, so the pattern has weight despite the light fabric. Against the flare the flowers crowd at the waist and open out at the hem.
