Petals without stems are an odd thing to draw, but on a scrunchie they make sense: the fabric twists, so anything with a clear up-and-down direction ends up sideways half the time. Loose petals have no orientation to lose. The tones are held close together so the whole accessory reads as one soft color from a distance and resolves into flowers up close.
