The story behind this design
The roses are drawn in the faded pink and dusty blue of an old furnishing chintz, which is where the vintage reading comes from rather than from any distressing effect. Blooms are layered at three depths so the pattern has somewhere to recede into. Nothing in it is symmetrical.
