The story behind this design
Where a rose print gives you whole flowers, this design works only with petals, loose and separated as though they had fallen. That choice keeps the pattern weightless, because no single shape is large enough to become the subject. The pinks are laid down in thin washes with the paper showing through, so the paper looks more like a painted surface than a printed one.
