DipaliZ Wildflower Desk Mat Neoprene Mouse Pad

The DipaliZ pastel wildflower desk mat is a neoprene mat printed with a garden of wildflowers in pastel tones. Three sizes are sold: 12" x 18", 12" x 22" and 16" x 32". Pastel coloring keeps a dense floral design light, so the mat does not darken a desk the way a saturated print would. DipaliZ makes this wildflower design in two colorways, and this listing is the pastel garden version rather than the neutral watercolor one. Sizes and material are taken from this product's own specification.

The story behind this design

Wildflowers are the right subject for a pastel treatment, because a meadow is already a mix of half-tones rather than strong blocks of color. The design lets the blooms crowd the surface instead of spacing them politely apart. The mood is soft and a little overgrown, closer to a verge in June than to a florist's arrangement.
