The story behind this design
Vines are the right botanical for a legging because they already run in one direction: a climbing plant has a natural top and bottom, and so does a leg. Drawing the flowers along those lines rather than scattering them gives the print a lengthening effect that a random repeat would not. Spandex also stretches the artwork in wear, which is why the vines are drawn loose enough to take that distortion without looking pulled.
