The story behind this design
The swirl is a seventies motif redrawn at full mat length, curling back on itself in wide ribbons rather than tight spirals. Orange, hot pink, mustard and deep teal take turns along each ribbon, so the color changes as the line travels instead of staying fixed. The ribbons never quite close, which keeps the eye moving down the mat rather than settling in one place.
