About the design
Button mushrooms are grouped close together and lit softly, so the palette stays within a narrow range of cream, buff and pale grey-brown. Rounded caps and the fine ribbing under the rims give the image its texture, and there is nothing else in the frame to distract from it. The result is quiet and earthy, closer to a botanical plate than to food photography.
