The story behind this design
Deep indigo and near-black grounds are shot through with drifts of violet and rose, the way a long-exposure photograph renders a nebula. Small points of white scatter across the field at uneven spacing rather than a grid, which keeps the sky from looking manufactured. On a small round body the print reads as a fragment of sky rather than a whole one. Small text and fine graphics can break up where the speaker grill is perforated, so the design is built from large shapes.
