The story behind this design
The design leans on colonial sign-painting: a bordered field, a central emblem and lettering that sits on a curve rather than a straight line. Detail is kept heavy and few-colored so that it still reads at the top of a garden stake in flat daylight. The mood is settled and historical, the look of a tavern sign rather than a holiday pennant.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What sizes does this banner come in?
A: Two sizes are offered: 12 by 18 inches, the usual garden-flag size, and 24.5 by 32 inches, which is a house banner.
Q: What is the flag made from?
A: It is made from poly poplin canvas, a woven polyester fabric.
Q: Is a pole or stand included?
A: No pole, stand or bracket is included. The banner itself is what ships.
Q: Which size should I choose for a front porch?
A: The 24.5 by 32 inch size is the house banner and is the one that reads from the street. The 12 by 18 inch size suits a garden bed or a path edge.
Care
Wash the banner by hand in cool water with a mild detergent and hang it to dry. Do not bleach it and do not tumble dry it. Bring the banner indoors ahead of a storm, because wind damage to a hanging flag is mechanical rather than a fabric fault.
