The story behind this design
Each hexagon is filled as a flat facet rather than shaded, and neighboring facets step through the spectrum by a small amount, so the grid appears to shift as the case turns. Teals run into violets and violets into warm pinks without any single tone taking over. The effect borrows from a soap film or an oil slick, an iridescence built out of straight edges.
