About This Item
The DipaliZ Gingerbread House Banner is a printed garden and house banner in poly poplin-canvas fabric. Two sizes are listed, 12 by 18 inches for a garden pole and 24.5 by 32 inches for a house bracket. The artwork shows a gingerbread house set in a winter garden, so this is a Christmas and winter piece rather than an autumn one. The banner is sold on its own, without a pole or bracket.

The story behind this design
The house is drawn as if the icing has just set: piped white edging along every roof line, gumdrops pressed into the walls, a path of sugar cobbles running out of frame at the bottom. Snow is suggested by leaving the paper colour rather than by painting white over it. Warm window light is the only strong colour, which is what makes the piece read from across a garden at dusk.
