About This Item
This DipaliZ doormat is a tufted coir mat measuring 24 by 16 inches, printed with broad green tropical leaves. The fiber is coconut-husk coir laid on a black vinyl backing. The leaves are drawn at scale, so two or three fill the mat rather than tiling across it. One size and one design are offered on this listing. Size and materials given here come from this listing's own records.

The story behind this design
Scale is the decision that defines this design: the leaves are cropped by the mat edges, so the eye reads them as close up rather than as a pattern seen from a distance. Veining is drawn in a darker tone of the same green instead of in black, which keeps the whole mat in one register. The mood is lush and contemporary, the most graphic of the botanical mats in this range.
Frequently asked questions
Q: How big is the mat?
A: 24 by 16 inches. One size is offered.
Q: What is the mat made of?
A: Tufted coir coconut fiber with a black vinyl backing.
Q: What leaves are in the design?
A: Broad tropical foliage, drawn large enough that two or three leaves fill the mat rather than a small repeating print.
Q: Will green show dirt?
A: Mid-green hides dry dust reasonably well and shows pale mud more than a dark mat would. The moody dark mats in the DipaliZ coir range are the most forgiving on that count.
Care
Shake out or vacuum the mat. Brush off marks when dry rather than washing, because wet coir stays heavy for days. Keep it clear of standing water and out of the washing machine.
