The story behind this design
The chevron is the oldest pattern a knitter can make, and this version keeps it deliberately plain: even bands, a narrow range of grays, no contrast row breaking the rhythm. That restraint is the point, because a zigzag in strong color becomes the only thing anyone sees, while a zigzag in gray becomes texture. Up close the banding is clear; from across a room the cardigan just reads as a good knit.
