The story behind this design

A scarecrow is a Halloween figure that belongs to the harvest rather than to the graveyard, and this drawing keeps it there: a sacking head, a stitched mouth and straw pushing out at every cuff. The straw is the only warm colour on the shirt, a dry gold that lifts off both the black and the navy.
