The story behind this design
Wrapping a skeleton around a cylinder means the figure has to work without a front or a back, so the drawing lets the ribcage continue around the glass and meet itself. The bones are inked in a single off-white line against a dark ground, and as the candle burns down the flame lights the artwork from behind. That slow reveal is the reason the design was kept simple.
