The story behind this design
Laxmi feet are the oldest Diwali motif there is: two footprints marking the path the goddess takes into a welcoming house. The pair here are drawn as filled silhouettes with the toes stepping inward, so a banner hung over a doorway reads as an arrival rather than a decoration. The greeting sits beneath them rather than above, which keeps the footprints as the first thing the eye lands on.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What is printed on this banner?
A: The DipaliZ Happy Diwali Matte Banner is printed with Laxmi feet, the traditional footprints of the goddess Lakshmi, together with a Happy Diwali greeting.
Q: What sizes does it come in?
A: Two horizontal sizes are offered: 48 by 36 inches and 72 by 60 inches.
Q: What is the banner made of?
A: It is printed on 15 oz blockout scrim vinyl with a matte surface.
Q: Do I need to buy anything to hang it?
A: No. Hanging hardware is included with the banner.
Q: How does this differ from the other DipaliZ Laxmi Feet banner?
A: DipaliZ lists two Laxmi feet banners separately. This one is titled Happy Diwali Matte Banner Laxmi Feet Vinyl Decor; the companion listing is Happy Diwali Banner Laxmi Feet Design. Both use the same 15 oz matte vinyl and the same two horizontal sizes, so choose by whichever listing you reach first.
Care
Wipe the banner clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then let it dry fully before rolling or rehanging. Store the banner rolled rather than folded so the vinyl does not crease.
