About This Item

The story behind this design
Holly is drawn with its leaves overlapping in loose clusters, each spined edge picked out in a darker green, and the berries grouped in threes in a deep cool red. There is no background and no border, so the white of the ceramic acts as the space between the leaves. Keeping the clusters asymmetrical is what stops the design looking like a stamped roundel.
