The story behind this design
April is the month where a planner starts to fill up, so the grid is given more room inside each day cell than the border takes around the whole sheet. The flowers are drawn in spring colors and held to the outer edge, and they thin out toward the top so the month name has clear space above the grid rather than competing with the pattern.
