The story behind this design

Spoons are an unglamorous subject, which is exactly why they work as a drawing: repeated shapes, small differences, nothing to distract from the line. Laid out in a row the design becomes almost typographic, closer to a specimen chart than to a still life. For a coffee drinker it is a joke about how many spoons a household accumulates.
