The story behind this design
Pale flowers are spaced across a solid pink field on this cover, and because the ground carries the color the blooms themselves stay light and almost drawn rather than painted. The palette is a single warm pink working against whites and soft greens, which keeps the front looking calm at full letter size instead of busy. The mood is gentle and unfussy, the sort of cover that ages well through a whole term of use.
