The story behind this design
A lumbar cushion is seen at an angle, pushed into the small of a back or propped at the end of a sofa, so a centered motif would spend most of its life hidden. This print is laid out to survive that: the pattern repeats across the long axis with no single focal bloom, and the purple is carried at two strengths so the design still reads when half the cushion is in shadow.
