The story behind this design
A single peacock feather is enlarged until its structure becomes the whole subject: the dark ocellus at the centre, the halo of blue-green fibre around it, and the loose barbs feathering out toward the edges. The palette runs teal into emerald into bronze, colours that shift the way real plumage does depending on the light in the room. The effect is ornamental and slightly regal without tipping into busy pattern.
