The story behind this design
Pink is an unusual ground for snow, and that is the point of this one. The crystals are drawn thin and open rather than solid, so the pink shows through the arms of each flake and the whole surface stays warm instead of cold. The flakes sit at a range of sizes with no repeat visible around the curve, which suits a tall narrow cup where only part of the pattern is ever in view.
