About This Item
The DipaliZ You Are My Sunshine mug is a ceramic mug with a coloured interior, rim and handle, offered in black or yellow. The You Are My Sunshine artwork is printed on the outer wall, and the coloured glaze runs right over the lip so the contrast shows every time the mug is lifted. The mug is dishwasher safe and microwave safe, so it holds up to daily use rather than sitting on a shelf. This mug suits a parent, a partner or a friend who gets the same message every morning.

The story behind this design
The artwork sets the phrase in a rounded, softly weighted hand with a small sun motif worked into the line so the drawing and the lettering are one shape rather than two elements. Against a yellow interior the sun reads as warm and literal; against black it reads as a night-time version of the same sentiment. The mood is affectionate without being saccharine, which is why it survives being seen every single morning.
