The story behind this design
Most eagle graphics shout. This one was drawn to be looked at instead, with the bird in three-quarter profile and the plumage built from hundreds of short, deliberate strokes in bone white, slate and burnt umber. Printing it on black lets the pale head carry the whole composition, and it keeps the red and blue accents to small flashes rather than flooding the shirt.
