The story behind this design

Against a dark shirt the sunflower is drawn with a brighter, more saturated yellow and a heavier dark center, because a muted ochre would simply vanish. The date is set in a cream spaced capital beneath it. Designing for Military Green in particular pushed the petals warmer than they would otherwise be.
