The story behind this design
The backwaters are painted as horizontal bands of water, bank and palm line, which is how they actually read from a boat: everything layered and nothing vertical except the trees. Greens are kept humid rather than bright. The picture is empty of people on purpose, so the water itself is the subject.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Which frame colors does this listing offer?
A: The ayous wood frame is offered in black or red oak on this listing.
Q: What sizes are available?
A: Eight portrait sizes are offered: 8x10, 11x14, 12x16, 12x18, 16x20, 18x24, 20x30 and 24x36 inches.
Q: Are any square sizes available?
A: No. Every size on this listing is portrait, so the poster hangs taller than it is wide.
Q: How does this differ from the other DipaliZ Kerala backwaters posters?
A: This is the plain backwaters scene with no figure in it. The Boatman and Tranquil Escape listings both place a man on a boat in the water, and the Sun and Shade listing works the same view in stronger light.
Care
Dust the frame and glazing with a dry, soft cloth. Keep the poster out of direct sun, and hang taller sizes on two fixings so they stay level.
