The story behind this design
The creature artwork is engraved rather than printed, so the design appears as the bare metal showing through the colored finish and cannot rub off at the handle. Working in a single tone forced the drawing down to outline and a little texture, which is why the animals read as stamped charms rather than cartoon decals. Each colorway changes the contrast, so the same engraving looks crisp on Nightfall Blue and softer on Rose Taupe.
