The story behind this design
The dinosaur is a round-bellied sauropod rather than anything toothy, drawn in flat blocks of green and coral with no outline at all, so it stays friendly at arm's length. The number is the largest thing on the shirt, because at eight the number is the point. Placing the animal slightly behind the digit, peering around it, gives the design a bit of movement without adding any detail a child would wear out looking at.
