The story behind this design
The pattern imitates a knitted mesh, with the loops drawn open enough that the eye reads air between them. Printing a knit onto a woven canvas is the joke in it: the shoe looks like a sock and behaves like a sneaker. Tones are kept close together so the texture reads before any color does.
