The story behind this design

This design borrows the shape of a garden archway: lavender spikes and open peonies climb up both sides and meet across the top of the sheet. The color runs from pale lilac through dusty rose, kept deliberately muted so handwriting in blue or black ink still reads cleanly against it. The mood is quiet and a little formal, which is why it works for correspondence as well as lists.
