The story behind this design
A leopard spot is really two marks, a dark broken ring with a warmer center, and getting that doubling right is what separates a convincing leopard print from a dotty one. The rosettes here are spaced unevenly and vary in size, which keeps the pattern looking grown rather than tiled.
