The story behind this design
One magnolia bloom and a pair of waxy leaves occupy the center of each napkin, drawn large and in few strokes. The petals are cream edged with a faint pink flush, the leaves a deep green with a pale reverse, which is how magnolia foliage actually behaves. Nothing else fills the cloth, so each napkin works as a small still life on the plate.
