The marble is drawn rather than photographed, which matters: real marble scanned onto fabric reads as a countertop, while a painted vein can be softened and slowed down. The veining here runs in long diagonal drifts of grey and warm cream with no hard edges anywhere, so on a plush pile it looks like the stone is out of focus.
